“Sudden cardiac arrest is not just a job for emergency responders but rather a community-based issue that requires a community-based response.”

What is PulsePoint?
PulsePoint Respond empowers everyday citizens to provide life‐saving assistance to victims of sudden cardiac arrest.
App users who have indicated they are trained in CPR and willing to assist in case of an emergency can be notified if someone nearby is in cardiac arrest. The location-aware application will alert users in the vicinity of the need for CPR simultaneous with the dispatch of advanced medical care. The app also directs these rescuers to the exact location of nearby AEDs.

What is the PulsePoint app?
PulsePoint Respond is a 911-connected mobile app that alerts CRP/AED-trained individuals to someone nearby having a sudden cardiac arrest. PulsePoint Respond supports multiple responder types, including community members, healthcare professionals, and public safety personnel.
PulsePoint aims to initiate CPR earlier and more often as well as increase the use of automated external defibrillators (AED) prior to emergency responders arriving on scene.
PulsePoint is integrated directly into the public safety communications center. When a call taker determines CPR may be needed, an alert is sent to nearby app subscribers simultaneously with the dispatch of emergency responders.
